Terms of service
The short version: upload pages you have the right to use, we translate the text and hand the image back. Paid credits never expire. Don’t use this to redistribute other people’s work.

1. Who we are and what you’re agreeing to
TranslateMyManga (“TranslateMyManga”, “we”, “us”) is operated by [Operator legal name], based in [Country / region]. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and DMCA Policy, form the agreement between you and us for using the website at https://translatemymanga.com, the browser extension and any related API (the “service”). By using the service you accept them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.
2. The service
TranslateMyManga detects the text on a comic, manga, manhwa or webtoon page you provide, translates it into the language you choose, and redraws the translation into the original artwork. Some tools only extract the text (OCR) or only remove it. Text detection and image rendering run in your browser; translation runs through third-party AI language models (see the Privacy Policy for who they are).
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old (16 where local law requires) to use the service, and at least 18 to buy credits or a subscription.
- You can use the service without an account, subject to a daily limit. Signing in with Google creates an account. We don’t store a password; Google authenticates you.
- You’re responsible for everything done under your account. One person, one account — don’t create accounts to collect welcome credits repeatedly.
- You can delete your account at any time from your library. Deletion runs after a 14-day grace period; signing in again during that period cancels it. See section 5 of the Privacy Policy for what is erased and what is kept.
4. Your content and the licence you give us
You keep every right you have in the pages you upload and in the results. We claim no ownership of them and we do not use your content to train AI models. To run the service we need a limited licence: you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transmit to our processors, and modify (translate, erase, redraw) your content solely to provide the service to you, ending when the content is deleted.
You must have the right to use every page you upload — your own work, work you’ve licensed, or material you are otherwise permitted to reproduce. A translated page is a derivative work of the original. Permission to read something is not permission to publish a translation of it. Using the service to produce or distribute unauthorised copies of copyrighted comics is a breach of these terms and may be unlawful where you are.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content you don’t have the right to use, or distribute the output in a way that infringes anyone’s rights;
- upload content that is illegal to possess or share where you are, including any sexual content involving minors — we report such material to the authorities;
- probe, scan, overload or attack the service, or interfere with other users’ use of it;
- bypass usage limits, bot checks, or sign-in requirements, including by automating requests, rotating IP addresses, or scripting the free tier;
- resell, sublicense, or provide the service to third parties as your own product without our written agreement;
- reverse-engineer the service, except where the law says we can’t stop you.
6. Free use, credits and subscriptions
- Free use. Signed-out visitors get a small number of pages per day. New accounts receive a one-time welcome balance, and signed-in users can claim a small daily check-in allowance (one claim per account per day; unused daily pages expire at the end of that day in your local time zone). Pages produced on the free tier carry a small TranslateMyManga mark; paid plans and credit packs don't. Free credits are for personal use; farming them across multiple accounts is a breach of these terms. We may change these limits at any time.
- One credit = one page. A long webtoon strip is split into parts and each part costs one credit; the tool tells you the count before you run it. Pages that fail are not charged.
- Credit packs are paid once and never expire. They are tied to your account and can’t be transferred or redeemed for cash.
- Subscriptions give a monthly page allowance that resets each billing period; unused allowance does not roll over. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. Cancel any time; you keep access until the end of the paid period. Yearly plans are billed once a year.
- Plan features (batch size, storage time, commercial use) are as described on the pricing page at the time you buy. If we reduce a feature of a plan you’re on, we’ll tell you before your next renewal.
- Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes we’re required to collect. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see your full card number.
- Commercial use of the output is permitted only on plans that include it. This does not grant you any rights in the source material itself — see section 4.
7. Refunds
Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy, which is part of these terms. In short: unused credit packs and first-time subscription payments can be refunded within 14 days; renewals and used credits can’t, except where the service itself failed.
8. Machine translation — no guarantee of accuracy
Output is produced by AI models and will sometimes be wrong: names, honorifics, jokes, handwritten or stylised text, and text hidden in artwork are the usual failure points. We don’t review output before you see it. Check anything that matters. Don’t rely on the service for legal, medical, financial or safety-critical text.
9. Our intellectual property
The service — its software, design, detection models we trained or licensed, and the TranslateMyManganame and logo — belongs to us or our licensors. These terms don’t give you any right to it beyond using the service as intended. Feedback you send us can be used without obligation to you.
10. Copyright complaints
We respond to copyright notices as described in our DMCA Policy. Because pages are processed on request and are not published by us, most notices concern what a user did with the output; we still act on valid notices and terminate repeat infringers.
11. Availability and changes to the service
We aim for the service to be available continuously but don’t guarantee it. We depend on third-party AI providers and may switch or add providers without notice. We may change, limit or discontinue features; if we discontinue the service entirely, we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice and refund unused credit packs.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim and US$20. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you’re a consumer, you keep all rights your local law gives you.
14. Indemnification
You’ll defend and hold us harmless from claims, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from content you upload, what you do with the output, or your breach of these terms — including third-party copyright claims about pages you had no right to use.
15. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, attack the infrastructure, abuse refunds or the free tier, or attract repeated valid copyright complaints. Where the breach is deliberate, remaining credits are forfeited; otherwise we’ll refund unused credit packs. Sections 4, 9, 13, 14 and 16 survive termination.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing law & courts], and disputes will be brought in its courts — except that if you’re a consumer, you may also rely on the mandatory consumer-protection rules and courts of the country where you live. Before going to court, write to us; most problems are a refund or a fix away.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. For material changes we’ll show a notice on the site or email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms. The English version controls if a translation differs.
