Drop a chapter — CBZ, CBR, ZIP, PDF or the loose pages CBZ · CBR · ZIP · 7z · PDF · JPG · PNG · WEBP — unpacked here in your browser, in reading order Translate to: ## A chapter, start to finish The four steps of localizing a chapter, in the order you do them. 1 ### Translate the chapter Drop the archive above. Pages run one after another and land in your library the moment each finishes; close the tab and nothing already done is lost. 2 ### Fix what the model missed Open a page, draw a box over a skipped balloon, and only that region is re-read. Wrong line? Click the balloon, edit the text, resize or drag it. 3 ### Letter and clean Translating from your own script instead? The editor empties the balloons and lets you type each line. Brush away anything left over. 4 ### Export Download the chapter as CBZ or ZIP, or grab single PNGs. Everything stays in your library for 30 days. ## What localizing a comic needs that a plain translator skips Reading a page once is a translator. Producing a chapter your readers can read is a workflow. IN ### Whole chapter in Drop your chapter as a ZIP, CBZ, CBR or PDF. Pages unpack in reading order in your browser, nothing to install. MT ### First pass in one go Every page is detected and translated with the whole page as context. Failed pages are never charged; retry them one at a time. FIX ### Fix, don’t redo Draw a box over a balloon the detector missed and only that region is re-read. Click any balloon to edit the line, resize it or drag the lettering. TYPESET ### Letter your own script Already have a translation? Use the editor: balloons are emptied without touching the art, then you type each line and it’s fitted to the balloon. CLEAN ### Erase brush Stray marks and leftover source text: brush over them. The brush takes the colour under it, so halftone stays halftone. OUT ### CBZ out Export the finished chapter as CBZ or ZIP. Opens in Panels, YACReader and other comic readers; every page also sits in your library for 30 days. ## Browser scanlation vs the desktop stack Photoshop + a translator tab + an OCR tool + a CBZ packer is the traditional stack. Yes. A long strip is sliced at the gutters, each part translated with its context, and the translation drawn back onto the original strip — so webtoon scanlation goes through the same batch → fix → export flow. See the [webtoon translator](https://translatemymanga.com/webtoon) for single strips. ### Who is this for? Comic creators publishing in more than one language, translators working under a licence, and small publishers localizing their catalogue. If you just want to read a page in your language, the single-page translator on the home page is faster. ### Is this a scanlation app or a translator? Both halves. The [chapter translator](https://translatemymanga.com/chapter) does the machine-translation pass; the [editor](https://translatemymanga.com/editor) does the fixing and lettering. This page is the workflow that joins them. ### Can I use my own translation instead of the machine’s? Yes. Run the page through the editor: balloons are emptied, you type each line, and it’s fitted automatically. No credits are used for that. ### Does it handle sound effects and text on the art? Text on the art is erased stroke by stroke and redrawn in place with an outline. Anything left over, the erase brush handles. ### What about consistency across a series? Within a page, every balloon is translated in one pass with the whole page as context. A pinned series glossary isn’t available yet — for now, fix a drifted name by clicking the balloon and editing it. ### Which readers open the export? CBZ is the standard comic archive, so Panels, YACReader, Kindle Comic Converter and most comic readers open it directly. ### Can I translate and share someone else’s comic? Only with the rights holder's permission. Uploading pages you have no right to use, or distributing unauthorized translations, breaks our [terms](https://translatemymanga.com/terms) and gets the account suspended; we act on valid [DMCA notices](https://translatemymanga.com/dmca).
